i live on long island, and yes it is very nice, but also very expensive to live, especially taxes. we pay almost $10,000 in real estate taxes and they just go up every year. yes, our school district is very good, but how much more taxes can we pay already. my husband has a small business here, and he's getting clobbered not just with taxes, but from the town. did i mention we live in the town of BROOKHAVEN. they are the most crooked bunch of people! most people here already know this. anyway, sorry to ramble. But we are close to beaches and parks, and about an hour from the city. just getting a little too crowded with all the houses they're building now.
